Jr Develpmental Team Hits the Road
The Motor City Chiefs Jr Developmental team hits the road this weekend traveling to Illinois to play Danville and the Illinois Frontenics . Coach Steve Hill's crew are coming off a weekend split in GLJHL action. On Saturday evening the Chiefs traveled to Burton
n to play the Mountain Cats Conner Dresser netted two goals , Ian Miller and Sean Carlock also scored as the Chiefs defeated the Cats 4-2. On Sunday the Chiefs returned home to face the Ice Dogs , The dogs handed the Chiefs a 6-3 home loss, Joe Byrne scored three for the Hat Trick for the Chiefs.
Chiefs open Season with Split on the Road---------------------09/09/08
The Motor City Chiefs Junior Developmental Team officially kicked off the Great Lakes Junior Hockey Leagues Season with a decisive victory over the the Tri City Ice Hawks On Saturday Evening at Midland, MI 4-0. Head Coach Steve Hill was very pleased with the intensity and the level of play. " In any league it is hard to open on the road, I am glad we got one under our belt righ away stated one of the teams parents whom made the trip with the club" . Goaltender Adam Powers recorded the Shut Out Victory for the Chiefs.
On Sunday Morning the Chiefs and the Ice Hawks faced off for the second game of the road trip. The Ice Hawks made it very clear early in the game that they had no intention of being dominated in the manner of the first game. The game was a back n forth game with both teams recording numerous scoring opportunities only to be turned away by stingy goaltending. The score remained 0-0 thru the first two periods of play. In the third period both teams exchange goals early in the period with both teams pounding eachothers physically and continuing the battle for on ice supremcy. In the last two minutes of the third period the Ice Hawks tenacity would pay off as they were able to slip one past Matt Schnoes to win the game 2-1.
Chiefs Jr. Development Team Set to Start Season ----------------------------------------------09/05/08
Head Coach Steve Hill's Motor City Chiefs travel to Midland Michigan on Saturday and Sunday to open the Great Lakes Junior Hockey League season against the Tri City Ice Hawks . The Chiefs completed thier exhibition schedule which allowed Coach Hill to evaluate and put the finishing touches on his roster to start the season.
Goaltending: the Chiefs start the season with three guys fighting for the number one spot Adam Powers whom seen some time at the A Level last season, Matt Shnoes and Ryan Shultz. all three guys can handle the top job.
Defence: On Defense 92 Taylor Jarvis leads a crew of defensive players that bring both physical play and good puck handling abitility Jarvis is joined on the blue line by team captains Andrew Hatch, David Tasker as well as Marcos Madrigal, Jason Averdesian,Cameron Dimitt, Steve Krieger, Pete Wychocki and Tim Hunter.
Forward: On Forward Nick Bates, captain Joe Byrne, Andrew Miller and Brandon Gruelich all came off impressive Jr. A Camps and are expected to put up big numbers for the development team, they will be joined by Brett Carpani, Sean Carlock, Conner Dresser,Jacob McMannon,Miguel Rodriguez , Chris Mann and Colin White.
Chiefs Fans will get thier first look at the Development Team when they face off in thief Home Opener Sunday September 14th @ 3:50 PM against the Ice Mountain Ice Cats

Jr Development Team Completes training Camp with success.
The Motor City Chiefs Jr. Developmental Team completed their training camp this week with a very competitive and up tempo intersquad scrimmage. Most noticable was the speedy play of Forward Miguel Rodriguez and of goaltender Matt Schnoes. The first week of camp was a real learning experience for everyone from coaches to players as both the A Team and Jr Develpmental team participated in Joint sessions both on Ice and Off Ice. " With the core group intact Coach Steve Hill now plays a waiting game as Jr A Coach Kelly Nester begins the process of Narrowing down the Jr A roster and assigning players to the Midget and Jr Development clubs. The team kicks off it's season opener on CHIEFS DAY Sept. 14 3:30 p.m. against the Mountain Cats from Burton, Michigan.
