WHAT IS JUNIOR HOCKEY

At what stage is your hockey career ?

Are you ready to play Junior Hockey  or do YOU need some development.

Can you make a varsity college hockey team yet?

Could you play on an OHL team?

Chances are that you may think so, and maybe you are: but to get to that level from High School, Midgets or Bantams is still quite a stretch.

College coaches prefer that a prospective player has had some junior hockey playing experience. Junior  coaches are looking for players with Junior or Midget AAA  experience. The OHL is looking for younger players that can play at a junior level.  Depending on what stage your hockey career is at, ,there is probably one more step, if not two, left for you to take before you can make a college team, a Junior  team or an OHL  team. Almost always, that step requires "junior hockey playing experience". The vowed purpose of  the Motor City Chiefs and the NEW Chiefs Development Junior Team,  is to develop players and advance them to the higher levels of hockey. At Motor City, we don't hold back players to make a trophy run, we develop and promote players during the season. We historically replace 80% of our  team each season.  We provide a medium in which you can hone and develop your skills while playing a fiercely competitive brand of  junior hockey. You will be exposed to some tough physical play, many  times against older players who will diminish the "time and space" you have on the ice  to make plays. That, however, is precisely what it takes to develop your game to the point  that the "higher levels" become interested in YOU.

We are devoted and committed to developing and advancing our players who have the work ethics and desire to achieve the highest level they can play in Ice Hockey.
